General conditions:

• Two funding periods (September 2025 – August 2026 and September 2026 – July 2027)
• Up to 10 exchange fellowships can be granted per period
• Reimbursement based on EC unit costs for eligible travel cost (Travel and accommodation)
• Max 2 weeks stay
• Applications up until 30 April of each year– in exceptional cases any time

Eligibility criteria:

• Clinicians and other health professionals are accepted
• Applicants should be from an ERN RARE-LIVER full member or affiliated partner centre
• The visit has to be at one of our member and partner centres, see list here.
• We only accept cross border clinical exchanges

Procedure:

1. Interested applicants reach out to the preferred member or partner centre, see list here, and ask for availability and timeframe of exchange.
2. Receiving centre signs a letter of support, find template here.
3. Once timeframe is agreed upon, the applicant fills the application form until end of April of each year.
4. The ERN RARE-LIVER office notifies applicants of their application outcome until end of May.
5. The successful applicants can plan their visit for the next funding period starting in September 2025.
