Each year, this global photo competition provides a unique opportunity to shine a light on the lives, experiences, and powerful perspectives of people within the rare disease community. Open to photographers, advocates, families, and creative minds worldwide, the awards are your chance to share your perspective and help raise awareness of the realities of life within the rare disease community.
Why not have a shot? Each submission will be reviewed by an expert photographer before the finalists are published for a public vote to determine the winners.

During the Black Pearl Awards Ceremony.

The 16th EURORDIS Black Pearl Awards will take place in Brussels on 15 February 2027. The annual event recognises individuals, organisations and initiatives working to improve the lives of people living with rare diseases across Europe and beyond. Find more information about the ceremony here.
