About the Working Group

The Acute Liver Failure (ALF) Working Group brings together adult and paediatric hepatologists and liver specialists with expertise in acute liver failure and paediatric acute liver failure.

Acute liver failure is a rapid loss of liver function that can occur within days or weeks, often in people without known pre-existing liver disease. It is rare, life-threatening and requires urgent specialist care.

The Working Group aims to improve the diagnosis, management, registry documentation, research collaboration, education and patient information for acute liver failure across ERN RARE-LIVER centres.

Get Involved

Clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals with expertise or interest in adult or paediatric acute liver failure are welcome to become involved in the Working Group.

The group works on registry development, clinical protocols, guidance, education, patient information and collaboration across ERN RARE-LIVER centres.
