Particular rare liver disease expertise of the centre
The gastroenterology discipline collaborates with the Alliance of Rare Liver Diseases from Moldova and the Center of Excellence in Genetic Diseases, in order to diagnose and monitor patients with rare liver diseases. Within the Clinic, a database is created for the inclusion of patients with Wilson’s Disease, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, cystic fibrosis, and primitive sclerosing cholangitis. The gastroenterology clinic collaborates with the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinic/HELPA, which implements the register of patients with rare liver diseases. The Clinic’s team has experience in managing liver disease registries, being investigators in international projects involving electronic registries.

Centre information
The gastroenterology discipline within the “Nicolae Testemitanu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a university centre that carries out teaching, curative and research activities. The clinic’s collaborators are trained in several national and international projects focusing on gastroenterological and liver diseases.
The clinic is a tertiary centre, so all patients with rare liver diseases are consulted by the specialists of this clinic.
At the level of this centre, postgraduate studies in the speciality of gastroenterology, as well as doctoral and postdoctoral studies, are conducted. The clinic’s collaborators are the authors of the national clinical protocols on specialized subjects.
