Centre information

The Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) is the second largest university hospital in France, and is a reference for several rare conditions requiring high level of medical expertise. Therefore, HCL plays an educational role and conducts numerous clinical trials in the fields of rare diseases.
The Department of pediatric hepatology and gastroenterology in HCL is a constitutive reference centre for biliary atresia and genetic cholestasis, and for Wilson’s disease. It is a part of Filfoie, the French network for rare liver diseases. A specialized and multidisciplinary team constitutes this centre, and is involved in the management of rare liver diseases and liver transplantation, from childhood to adulthood.
