Clinical Centre of University of Debrecen
Hungary
Centre information
Clinical Centre of the University of Debrecen provides both adult and pediatric in- and outpatient hepatology care for East counties of Hungary with a total population of around 1.2 million. Our Clinical Centre is also a tertiary care center providing advisory service to the general practitioners in the agglomeration and to the regional hospitals as well. Several patients and healthcare practitioners seek help at our Clinical Centre once they could not come to a diagnostic conclusion elsewhere. In Hungary, the estimated incidence of structural, metabolic, autoimmune and pregnancy-related liver disease or acute liver failure as well corresponds with international data. Accordingly, we provide complete health care for nearly 400 adult and pediatric patients suffering various kinds of rare liver diseases that bring quite a large experience to our practice. We have significant clinical activity yearly in all five main thematic groups of ERN Rare Liver. However, out of the main thematic groups, autoimmune liver diseases is one of the HCP’s main focus. The HCP has the capacity to attend patients throughout the full trajectory of the diseases: including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and palliation in the setting of acute and chronic care.
