The CHB takes care of several rare liver diseases:

Centre information

The Centre Hépato-Biliaire (CHB) at Paul Brousse Hospital is set to take care of patients with liver and biliary diseases providing a multidisciplinary approach. Hepatologists, hepato-biliary surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologist and intensive care specialists as well as a highly specialized paramedical staff work daily together as a team to ensure the best management of patients with liver diseases. The CHB is a reference center for several rare liver diseases, in particular autoimmune diseases, Wilson’s disease, familial amyloid neuropathy, vascular liver diseases, biliary atresia. An educational program is available for the patients and we work closely with patient’s associations. The CHB is the first liver transplantation center in France with about 130-160 liver transplantations per year. The CHB offers a transition program to young adults with liver diseases and transplanted patients who move from pediatric to adult care service. In parallel with the clinical activity, the center had an intense clinical and experimental research program.
