Policlinico Umberto I is a university hospital located in Rome. It’s a highly specialized hospital and the largest in Europe. Several specialty outpatient clinics and more than 1200 impatient beds provide state-of-the-art patient care. The hepatology service includes both pediatric and adult care specialists for all liver disease including liver transplantation. In addition, many leading specialists work in the management of rare liver disease, including primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis, polycystic liver disease and rare liver tumors, particularly cholangiocarcinoma. We conduct high-level clinical and basic research.
