Centre information

Aarhus University Hospital is the largest hospital in Denmark and The Department of Hepatology and Gastroenterology is national referral centre for Wilson disease and regional referral centre for autoimmune liver diseases, genetic cholestatic liver diseases, as well as
cystic and vascular liver diseases. Because of extensive multidisciplinary clinical collaborations, the department offers the full spectrum of diagnostic and treatment modalities related to common and rare liver diseases. Located adjacent to Aarhus University, our hospital and department has a longstanding tradition for collaboration with the university, facilitating a close link between basic and clinical research. The department carries out extensive pre- and postgraduate teaching activities, including student and residents teaching/training and organises the educational programme the entire region.
