The General University Hospital of Larissa is a tertiary hospital located in Central Greece (approximately 1.000.000 inhabitants) that is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, School of Health Science, University of Thessaly. 


The Department of Medicine and the affiliated Research Laboratory of Internal Medicine operate since 1999 and specialize in patient care, involving the whole spectrum of Internal Medicine, in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, in medical teaching and training, while also conducts clinical, basic, and translational research with special emphasis in autoimmune liver diseases, as attested by a fair number of international publications/year (15-20/year). 
General University of Larissa through its Department of Medicine has been recognized officially by the Greek Ministry of Health as “National Expertise Center of Greece in Autoimmune Liver Diseases (GG 4040/B/05.11.2019) and serves as referral center for Autoimmune Liver Diseases in Greece.
