IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria di Bologna - Policlinico di Sant’Orsola, is an Academic Hospital located in Bologna and nationally recognized as Scientific Institute for Research and Treatment integrated into the national, regional and local health and scientific research system. Its aim is to satisfy health necessities through hospitalization services, high specialty care and development of clinical and translational research geared towards improving the health status of the population.
It is a highly specialised, multi-specialist hospital whose activity spreads over 32 pavilions, 23 of which are dedicated to care and research, with an average attendance of 20,000 people, including both patients and workers; it is made up of 1,430 beds and more than 5,000 healthcare workers and professionals, including the contracting university staff, work there. The Hospital is already a nationally recognised reference center for adult and paediatric rare diseases including liver diseases.
