Centre information

The Hepatology-Transplantation Unit is located in Necker-Enfants malades Hospital, in the centre of Paris, the oldest paediatric hospital in the world, and a very large paediatric institution with many specialized units. This environment allows the best care for children with all types of liver diseases, with or without involvement of other organs. Liver transplantion is performed from the 1990s, as well as transplantation of the liver and another organ, such as kidney or intestine or heart, or bone marrow. Patients are referred from whole France and abroad. Collaboration within the hospital, and with other centres, is highly developed, for the children’s care and follow up, and also for clinical research and education. The patient’s education and the transition to adult units are top concerns.
