Ghent University Hospital is one of the largest and most specialised hospitals in Flanders. Ghent University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Ghent University jointly invest in scientific research and education. This is how the hospital helps to develop the healthcare of the future. Ghent University Hospital is a quaternary referral center for pediatric and adult liver diseases and a liver transplantation center for children and adults. The center provides highly specialised care for liver patients in a multidisciplinary setting involving adult and pediatric hepatologists, hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgeons, (interventional) radiologists, endoscopists, oncologists,… A liver transition clinic is run by a pediatric and adult hepatologist.
