Centre information

Founded in 1805, the Tübingen University Hospital is one of the 33 university hospitals in Germany that contributes to the successful combination of high-performance medicine, research and teaching. We are a reliable partner in four of the six German Centres for Health Research initiated by the Federal Government. We welcome patients from all over the world who are treated in our clinics and wish to benefit from our high standards in research, patient care and nursing. Our center has a prominent focus on all aspects of care of rare diseases which are coordinated by our interdisciplinary center of rare diseases. In our departments of adult and paediatric hepatology together with our partners in other disciplines such as abdominal, transplantation and pediatric surgery we deliver tertiary level care for all patients with rare liver diseases in all age groups, including infants and seniors. Our tertiary care facility receives regional, national and international referrals and was last years largest national program for pediatric liver transplantation. Research interests include Novel Therapies in Rare Liver Diseases and Liver Transplantation and Immunomodulation.
