Centre information

Humanitas Research Hospital is a 750 bed hospital located in in the North of Italy, devoted to clinical research mainly in the context of immune-related, neurological, cardiovascular and neoplastic diseases. It is recognized by Joint Commission International and associated to Humanitas University, an international higher education institution. Research activities are carried out by 350 researchers and physicians, divided into more than 24 research groups including several prestigious, top-level groups covering many research areas. Our researchers and physicians have access to up to 20,000 sqm laboratory space devoted to research and training activities. An International Advisory Board assesses and evaluates Humanitas pre-clinical research. According to the “Excellence rank” of Scimago Research Group, Humanitas ranks among the top 10% worldwide.

The Centre for Autoimmune Liver Diseases (AILD) is a highly specialized, tertiary referral centre that specializes in patient care, scientific research, teaching and training. It has a multidisciplinary team including hepatology, interventional radiology, endoscopy, liver and gastrointestinal surgery. We host both industry sponsored and non-profit studies aiming to develop innovative treatment options.
