Centre information
The referral centre for vascular liver diseases in France, “centre de référence des maladies vasculaires du foie” (CRMVF), coordinates a national network for vascular liver diseases (32 local “centres de competence” and 1constitutive pediatrician liver centre), accredited by the French Ministry of Health in 2005. The CRMVF coordinated by Dr A Plessier is one of 4 centres of the french rare liver disease network called, “filière for rare liver disease“, FILFOIE, accredited in 2015, and one of the teams composing the academic department DHU “UNITY” (addressing the Unmet Needs through Innovation in gastroenterologyand hepatologY), accredited in 2014.
CRMVF, a patient-centered care network, aims at offering the best possible management for patients with vascular liver disease, wherever they are living in France. A multidisciplinary team includes experts in vascular liver diseases including: hepatology and liver transplantation, diagnostic and interventional radiology, endoscopy, hematology, biochemistry, intensive care-anesthesiology, liver and gastrointestinal surgery. The aim is to offer expert management locally as much as possible. Only when necessary, (e.g. for technical procedures that cannot be performed otherwise), the patient is seen at CRMVF in Beaujon. This paradigm fosters the development of improved local management mostly through training and collaboration.
CRMVF’s 2 additional aims are i) to share best practices, nationally and internationally, in the management of patients ii) to foster and expand clinical and translational research.
The centre is also a competence centre for autoimmune and biliary diseases coordinated by Dr A Payancé and biliary atresia and cholestatic liver diseases coordinated by Dr A Plessier.
